Employment agencies in Lithuania

Looking for a job but not sure where to start? Feeling lost among the many job ads and not sure which one is the best? Employment agencies in Lithuania can help you - intermediaries who help you find the right job and facilitate the employment process.
THE PURPOSE OF RECRUITMENT AGENCIES
The main purpose of recruitment agencies is to connect employers looking for workers with jobseekers.
Employment agencies help:
- For employers - save time and resources when looking for staff. Agencies select candidates according to the requirements, conduct initial interviews and prepare attractive job advertisements to attract candidates.
- For jobseekers - to get a job in certain companies and positions, when (usually) the companies themselves do not advertise these jobs. It also helps you to get a job in at least short-term positions if you suddenly lose your job and your regular income.
GUARANTEES FROM RECRUITMENT AGENCIES
When looking for a job through a recruitment agency, it is important to choose a reliable one. One way to assess the credibility of an agency is to look at the guarantees it offers:
- Equal working conditions. If you are employed through an agency, your working conditions and social security benefits must be the same as those of directly employed workers. This means the same working hours, holidays, health insurance, salary and pay rises.
- Salaries are always paid at the same time. The Agency must guarantee that you will receive the agreed salary on the agreed date. This means that you don't have to face financial uncertainty or anxiety. If the agency's payment of your salary fluctuates by even a few days, this means that the agency may be paying your salary only when the invoice for your work with the company is paid by the Client (company). This is a bad scenario for the payment of salaries for the employees.

RECRUITMENT AGENCY REVIEWS: HOW TO MAKE SURE THE AGENCY IS RELIABLE?
Before you start working with a recruitment agency, it is very important to find out what people who have worked or are working for the agency say about it. One of the best ways to do this is to read reviews about the recruitment agency. You can find them in Google search by typing in the name of the recruitment agency, in Facebook groups and on Rekvizitai.lt. Reviews can reveal a lot of valuable information about the specifics of the agency's work, the quality of its customer service, and can give you a general impression of how well the agency communicates with its employees and how much it cares about them.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN READING REVIEWS OF RECRUITMENT AGENCIES?
- Number of reviews: the more feedback there is, the more reliable the overall rating trend will be. For example, if one agency has only 10 reviews giving a score of 10/10 and another agency has 150 reviews giving a score of 4.8/5, the second agency deserves more of your attention, as it is very difficult to maintain a high rating in a very high volume of reviews. Meanwhile, the company with only 10 reviews may have received them fictitiously (from employees, friends, relatives), and also very long ago (reviews older than a year are not recommended to be evaluated objectively).
- Nature of feedback: When reading reviews, it is important to read not only the positive reviews, but also the negative ones, so that you can see what the most common problems are and assess whether they are relevant to you. If you see the same problem mentioned in negative reviews, it is likely that people are not lying. A more subjective approach is to look at reviews such as „I called once but there was no answer“, „I don't recommend“ (writing a word without a specific reason) or simply seeing a negative review without any feedback.
- Responses to feedback: pay attention to whether the company responds to customer feedback, especially negative feedback. If the company actively tries to resolve problems and respond to customer needs, it shows responsibility and professionalism. If a recruitment agency uses a template response to all negative comments, it indicates that the company is not willing to address specific problems and, in many cases, simply tells you to contact their general email address, thus „taking responsibility“ away from you.
MAIN DIFFERENCES BETWEEN LITHUANIAN AND FOREIGN RECRUITMENT AGENCIES
- Minimum wage and social security. If you want to get a job in a foreign country through a foreign recruitment agency (e.g. you can apply to a German agency for a job in Germany), it's worth knowing that in many cases, the minimum wage is higher in economically stronger countries than in Lithuania, and so is the average national salary. Importantly, the length of holidays, health insurance conditions and other social guarantees may differ from those in Lithuania.
- In Lithuania, recruitment agencies often offer jobs in different types of companies, such as manufacturing, construction, logistics, trade and service, whereas in foreign countries, agencies are more focused on manufacturing and logistics and on recruiting for such companies.
- Lithuanian recruitment agencies generally have fewer qualification requirements for jobseekers compared to foreign countries, which often require certificates, licences or other documents that are not necessary to get a job.
You can look for a job in a foreign country not only through Lithuanian recruitment agencies, but also by contacting a foreign recruitment agency. Of course, we recommend that you contact Lithuanian agencies first, as communication would be in Lithuanian and you would be in contact with a Lithuanian representative for any questions you have. In foreign agencies, communication is in English or another language (Russian, German, Dutch, etc.), which can cause difficulties for people who are not fully fluent in the language.
